About Me
Hi, I’m Julie, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I offer both in-person therapy in Scottdale, GA, and virtual therapy for residents of Georgia. My approach blends mindfulness, practical tools, and a focus on what matters most to you.
From an early age, I’ve been fascinated by people and the complexities of the human experience. I’ve always been an avid reader and keen observer, eager to understand how others navigate life’s challenges. This curiosity led me to pursue counseling and engage in my own therapy journey. It’s this experience that shapes my belief that therapy can open doors for change, even when it feels difficult or uncertain.
I’ve worked with many people over the years—adults and adolescents in various settings, including inpatient, residential, and outpatient care. I’ve seen the impact of therapy in helping people work through anxiety, depression, and tough life transitions. Recently, I’ve completed advanced training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS). These methods have deepened my ability to help clients develop psychological flexibility and heal through self-awareness and action.
In therapy, I focus on creating a safe, compassionate space where we can work together to help you find clarity and make meaningful changes. I use tools from polyvagal theory to help you reconnect with your body and calm your nervous system. I also draw on secular Buddhist principles to help you open up to the present, break free from old patterns, and take aligned action.
I believe therapy is a shared journey, and I’m here to support you every step of the way. Together, we can focus on progress, not perfection—creating the path that’s right for you.
